Here are some cool kitchen gadgets that can help you make the world’s greatest breakfast sandwich, open a large number of canned goods, and more!
The kitchen has been the site of some of the most interesting and impactful innovations of the modern era. It seems as though we have tackled the issue of convenience with inventions like the dishwasher, the refrigerator, and the microwave, although something could still come along and surprise us.
Many of the recent innovations in the kitchen have been about fine-tuning the processes of cooking and cleaning. Smart appliances allow us to find the exact right temperature for the oven, or monitor our refrigerator or dishwasher from afar. Other innovations have focused on performing a familiar function in a new or unfamiliar way.
The following are a few kitchen gadgets that could shake up how you do things in the kitchen.
Air Fryer
The first air fryer was introduced in 2010. It is essentially a convection oven that is small enough to sit on your countertop. It cooks food by blowing heated air over it with a fan. Now that air fryers have been on the market for over a decade, newer models offer an increasingly-wide range of extra features.
Air fryers offer the possibility of preparing healthier food. In a regular fryer, all sides of the food would be exposed to hot oil. An air fryer allows heated air to reach all sides of whatever you are cooking. This produces a somewhat similar effect to a fryer, but without all of the oil.

Breakfast Sandwich Maker
Breakfast sandwiches are already fairly convenient, but someone, at some point, has probably asked the question “how can I make a breakfast sandwich even faster?” The marketplace has answered with a contraption that allows you to assemble the breakfast sandwich components — egg, cheese, bacon (Canadian or otherwise), and bread — before the egg is even cooked.
The device cooks the egg in a separate chamber. When the egg is done, you move a few levels to bring the sandwich together. The whole process takes about 5 minutes.
Small bread products work best, like an English muffin or a biscuit. If you decide to include meat on your breakfast sandwich, you should cook it ahead of time. This product is designed to cook one egg at a time. All it can do for bacon or sausage is warm it up.
Food Scale
People have been using food scales for decades in order to measure out the perfect portion. Today’s food scales offer far greater precision. Smart food scales can share data with smartphone apps that help you plan meals and prepare recipes.
Multi-Purpose Opener
Food comes in many kinds of containers. You might need help opening some of these containers. Many kitchens boast an assortment of openers, including can openers, bottle openers, and jar grips.
The 21st century offers a variety of all-in-one tools that can help you declutter your kitchen. You can use the same tool to open canned and bottled goods. Options include 5-in-1 tools, 6-in-1 tools, and even 8-in-1 tools for all your opening needs.

Reusable Straws
A few years ago, it seemed like a large part of the world was turning against plastic drinking straws, mainly due to environmental concerns. Some cities went so far as to ban their use in restaurants.
Whatever you might think about straw bans or the impact of plastic straws on the environment, the episode led to many varieties of reusable straws. You might not want to bring a straw with you everywhere you go in case you get thirsty, but you could keep a few at home for when you’re enjoying a beverage.
The most popular types of reusable straws are metal and bamboo. Each has its advantages and drawbacks, so choose wisely.

Universal Lids/Covers
Few things are more irritating to a homeowner than mismatched food storage containers. A plastic storage tub is not of much use if you can’t find the corresponding lid. The same goes for pots and pot lids.
Universal lids allow you to boil water, make soup, etc. even if you can’t find the pot’s original lid. For food storage, a variety of reusable covers are available that fit standard storage containers. They might also fit most can sizes, so if you open a can but don’t use all of the contents, you can store the leftovers in the can.
